Wire Protection Tube

About tube specifications

Q.Please tell me about the lineup (size, shape, number in box)
A.The rectangular type comes in three sizes (W 13 mm × H 9 mm, W 30 mm × H 20 mm, W 40 mm × H 30 mm), and the hexagonal type comes in one size (10 mm). For details, please refer to [List by size] below.

Q.What is the material of the tube?
A.There are two kinds of the tube material, low density polyethylene (LDPE) and flame retardant polypropylene (PP).
Q.What are the advantages of rectangular and hexagonal tubes compared to conventional round tube?
A.They have less twists than round tubes, and have excellent tracking ability in the plane and vertical directions.
Q.What colors are available?
A.There are eight colors in the standard lineup. However natural color is only available for PE material. You can select the optimum color according to the circuit division and installation location. (Example: Silver color for mounting on aluminum frame)
Q.I would like to see some case studies.
A.We have a proven experience in wire protection in aluminum frame racks and wiring protection in control panels and various industrial machines. For details, refer to the list of case studies.
Q.What does "( )reference dimension" mean in the dimension list?
A.Since it is difficult to measure the outer and inner diameters of the bellows shape, a reference dimension is used as a general expression. Since the dimensions are fixed by the mold, they do not deviate significantly from the reference value.

About the fixture specifications

Q.Please tell me about the lineup (size, shape, number in box).
A.There are 3 types – aluminum frame type, insertion type, and screw-fastened / band-fastened combination type. For details, please refer to the exclusive fixture page.
Q.Please tell me about the material of the fixtures.
A.The material of the fixtures is 66 nylon.
Q.Can any aluminum frame from any manufacturer be used?
A.Aluminum frames with a groove width of 8 mm or 10 mm are compatible. For details, please refer to the dimension list or contact our staff.
Q.Please tell me about the applicable hole size and board thickness for the insertion type.
A.The mounting hole diameter is “φ4.8 tolerance + 0.2 · -0”, and the board thickness is “2.3 to 3.2 mm”.
Q.Please tell me about the applicable screw size for the screw-fastened / band-fastened combination type.
A.We recommend “M5 flat head screws”. Please refer to the list below.

About materials and properties

Q.Please tell me about the material of the tube and fixture.
A.The tube uses 2 types of material, low density polyethylene (LDPE) and flame retardant polypropylene (PP). The material of the fixtures is 66 nylon.
Q.Please tell me about the heat resistant temperature.
A.For the tube material LDPE it is from -20°C to 50°C and for PP it is from -20°C to 60°C. The heat resistant temperature of the fixture is higher than the tube, but when using it please select based on the heat resistant temperature of the tube.
Q.Are these products weather resistant? Can they be used outdoors?
A.They are intended for indoor use (or within a cabinet). As weather resistance is not available for the black type, please refrain from using it as outdoor exposed piping.
Q.Are these products resistant to chemicals?
A.Strong alkali resistance, acid resistance and oil resistance are material properties of both LDPE and PP. However, LDPE has a weak alcohol tolerance.
Q.Have you obtained UL?
A.No. PP material flexible tube has flame retardance equivalent to general corrugated tube (PP material). (Test method: Evaluation carried out by UL-HB equivalent test using 2 mm thick specimen)

How to use / Other

Q.Can I use it for moving parts?
A.We do not recommend use in applications where the product is always moving.
Q.In the case of the LDPE material rectangular type, the slit part overlaps when bent. Is there any good method to avoid this?
A.The product is designed such that the slit in the R part overlaps when bent in the left-right direction and the slit part opens when bent backward when bent back and forth.
[Recommended Usage]

(1) In the case of bending in the left / right direction, if the slit face is set to the back side, the overlapping portion becomes inconspicuous. In addition, when using fixtures, it is possible to fix more stably, and the appearance is also cleaner.
(2) When bending in the forward-rear direction, the opening of the slit part becomes inconspicuous since the slit face is on the inside.

Q.Can I bend a flame retardant type (PP material)?
A.Due to the nature of the material, it is harder than LDPE so it is not suitable for bending. If you need to bend the tube, we recommend the LDPE material type.
Q.How do I insert wires into the tube?
A.With the slit type, you can insert the wires from the slit part. LDPE material is flexible so you can easily enter the wires by hand. We are considering development of a wire insertion tool for PP material.
Q.Can I use other than M5 screws for the screw-fastened / band-fastened fixture? Also, in the case of M5 screws, can I use panhead type screws?
A.We recommend M5 flathead screws but you can also use the following sizes. Please refer to the compatibility list below.
